Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Policy

OUR COMMITMENT

At the Institute for Menstrual Health, we believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality education, support, and information about menstrual and hormone health.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, identities, experiences, and perspectives. We recognize that menstrual and hormone health concerns affect people across diverse communities, and that equitable access to education and healthcare information is essential to improving health outcomes worldwide.

OUR APPROACH

We strive to create a culture of respect, professionalism, curiosity, and compassion throughout all aspects of our organization, including our educational programs, community spaces, partnerships, events, and communications.

We are committed to:

  • Treating all students, graduates, faculty, staff, partners, and community members with dignity and respect.
  • Providing a learning environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, and exclusionary behavior.
  • Encouraging open dialogue and respectful exchange of ideas while maintaining a commitment to evidence-informed education and professional conduct.
  • Seeking diverse perspectives, experiences, and voices within our educational content, guest faculty, case studies, and community discussions.
  • Supporting accessibility and inclusion for participants from a wide range of professional, cultural, geographic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Continuously evaluating our programs and practices to identify opportunities for greater inclusivity and equitable participation.

GLOBAL COMMUNITY

The Institute for Menstrual Health serves students and practitioners from around the world. We value the richness that diverse cultural perspectives bring to conversations about health, wellness, coaching, and client care.

We acknowledge that experiences of menstrual and hormone health are influenced by many factors, including culture, geography, socioeconomic circumstances, access to healthcare, and lived experience. We encourage our students and graduates to approach their work with cultural humility and respect for individual differences.

INCLUSIVE LANGUAGE

We strive to use language that is respectful, welcoming, and inclusive. While much of our educational content is focused on women’s hormone health, we recognize that individuals of diverse gender identities may experience menstrual and hormone-related health concerns.

We are committed to ongoing learning and thoughtful communication that reflects both the populations we serve and the evolving conversations surrounding health and identity.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Creating an inclusive environment is a shared responsibility. We expect all members of our community—including students, graduates, faculty, staff, guest experts, and partners—to contribute to a culture of professionalism, respect, and inclusion.

Behavior that is discriminatory, harassing, abusive, or otherwise inconsistent with these values may result in removal from community spaces, educational programs, events, or partnerships at the discretion of the Institute for Menstrual Health.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are ongoing commitments rather than fixed goals. We recognize that meaningful inclusion requires continual learning, reflection, and improvement. As our organization grows, we remain committed to evaluating our practices and making thoughtful changes that support a welcoming and equitable experience for all members of our community.
